Ana said after 1st match: "It was the
first match in so long, almost two months; that's a very hard match to
play but also very exciting. I think [Roberta] was disappointed to lose
the first set and I lifted my game to take the match...
"In the break I worked really hard on my fitness and this
match was a great opportunity to show the results of the work. I also
worked on my strength, especially upper body to prevent injuries, and my
movement. I feel fantastic out there."
After the
2nd win, Ana went roller-coastering at "Dreamworld"
with her frequent doubles partner Maria Kirilenko.
Ana said: "I was very happy with the way I
played today. I was moving better in the court than in the last match
and was coming forward a lot more. My serve and volleys were both
working well. It was a good match and gave me some confidence."

"I came to Melbourne at the beginning of December and I was practising with Tennis Australia at Melbourne Park," Ivanovic said.
"We have relatives in Melbourne and I was staying with them. Both my parents are with me this time ... but it's hard to be away from home. It's definitely helpful to have people around me.
"When I started playing tennis, I knew there would be a lot of sacrifices, and this is one of them."
In the second round Ivanovic beat Mauresmo with a power game that in time could challenge the best on the circuit.
While her error count was almost twice that of her opponent, two big aces and a succession of powerful winners from both wings proved too much for Mauresmo.
Ivanovic crunched 21 winners to Mauresmo's four, setting up two match points with a pair of serious forehands.

After her defeat Ana said : “It was just a bad day. Everything I
tried didn’t work. It is very disappointing, but I have
to give her credit. She played very good and served
really well.”
After this tournament Ana has ended
coach David Taylor’s contract with immediate effect.
“The relationship between player and a travelling coach
is very unusual," said Ana. "You spend so much time together on the
court and off it, so it is really important that you get on well.
“On the court I was making some improvements but off the
court we weren’t getting on so well. It became a difficult working
environment for everyone, and not one that was going to bring me
success. I decided that it was best if we stopped working together. I
would like to wish David all the best.”
