  NEWS OF  Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

Ana will be start at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.  Her first round opponent is 7th seeded Patty Schnyder (10th number in rating WTA). Ana lost first match against Patty on May 3:6 2:6.
     
     Before this tournament Ana said: “We are on our way to Filderstadt. After such a long break, I am really happy to go for a tournament again. I am driven by desire to compete and now I got to a stage where I really miss it.

This will be my first time to play in Filderstadt. I see it as a new challenge. I spent two days in Zurich with Pierre and Zoltan. One more fitness training accompanied by tennis practice. It was hard but we always find ways to make it enjoyable.

We are arriving soon, a quick check in into hotel and we are back on the court. The practice is already booked, no time to waste”.

Ana lost her first match after recovery to experienced Patty Schnyder without shances - 1:6 2:6. That is the last match on this tournament. In doubles Ana havn`t play from the end of this season.

After match interview from www.anaivanovic.com :

I am disappointed with the result against Patty. On the other hand, considering what I had to go through in the past month or so, I am happy to be able to practice properly and to be back on the tour again.

I know that in time I’ll get back to my best but yesterday I felt I could not play to my full potential. The fact that I could not practice for three weeks might explain this.
Patty played well and she is a difficult opponent. With her style of play it is difficult to get into rhythm and as my service did not function I rarely had a chance to dominate the points. Still, in the second set I had a few chances to turn the match around but I lacked the confidence to finish off some points.

Onwards and forwards. I am short of match fitness and playing tournaments is the only way I can improve.

Next stop Moscow.
